Product updates, announcements, and news from the Comper team
Do you like to review your team-members and agent's code with manual care, gifting them comments like it was their birthday? Or do you have 0 trust issues and sip your coffee while the most recent changes get fixed by your agents? Take the Comper personality test to find out. Read more
Use Comper to understand your codebase in realtime This month, we're introducing a whole host of new capabilities across Comper to close the loop between architectural intelligence and everyday engineering execution. Software architecture documentation frequently goes stale, code reviews miss cross-system side effects, and tracking critical user journeys across microservices remains fragmented. Together, these updates represent the next step in building an architecture platform that keeps codebases aligned and empowers engineering teams to build with clarity. Read more
For years, engineering leaders relied on cycle time, review turnarounds, and PR velocity to gauge team health and delivery. We gathered around many different dashboards created by Jira or Swarmia. With this, some people measured speed under a simple premise: faster deployment meant higher output. But those time-based metrics were really just proxies for human bandwidth, without the use of other metrics aligned, like number of incidents, MTTR and tech debt or quality checks, they can also hide something. The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is officially active, and for software and product teams, it presents a daunting operational challenge. Mandated 24-hour early warnings on the Single Reporting Platform (SRP) for actively exploited vulnerabilities, mandatory technical documentation, and continuous software supply chain tracking threaten to impose a massive friction tax on engineering velocity. But regulatory compliance shouldn't mean freezing sprint cycles to manually audit dependencies or draft static architectural diagrams. Read more
Analysing and fixing AI-generated code bloat became a new engineering skill nobody asked for. While crunching through our own product’s 400k+ of lines of code, we created some helpers. Read more
As organizations pivot toward the final quarter of the year, the difference between success and a reactive scramble lies in the operational visibility established today. While July was defined by securing the perimeter through Pull Request (PR) scanning, the August release is a strategic shift toward execution velocity. We are providing leaders with the automated intelligence required to navigate codebase complexity, ensuring that Q4 is a period of high-impact delivery rather than a descent into end-of-year burnout. There’s no doubt that the software development lifecycle (SDLC) has been ripped apart by AI Development tools, it’s not hard anymore to write code, but that doesn’t mean that it’s quick and easy to build the correct quality product. All software development companies are adapting and changing their way of working or even roles to this new norm. Yet, people still feel that building quality software isn't as fast as it should be even with the help of AI tools. Read more
Microservices made sense at companies that already had the tooling to run them. Most teams copied the architecture and skipped that part. After a while only a handful of people still understand the whole system. Agents don't either. They're just as blind. Read more
In our July 2026 update, from unblocking code reviews with automated "what-if" analysis to eliminating administrative friction in R&D compliance, our latest features help you clear the path for high-velocity delivery. Read more
Two new features are live in Comper this month. One lets anyone ask your codebase questions in plain language and get answers grounded in actual development history. The other lets you define and surface the metrics that matter to your organization in real time. Both are available now. Read more
We use our public Rust OSS board to compare dependencies, spot inactive libraries, and ship faster - from switching frameworks to building on gitoxide. Read more
Three updates that make Comper noticeably more useful the next time you open it: structured codebase reports, shareable AI diagrams, and interactive in-product guides. Read more
Today, we're showing the world what we've been building. Comper is a real-time map where you can see the entire shape and history of a codebase... Read more
Code Duplication Checker, Security Scanning, Complexity Analysis, and a 10x faster analysis engine. Here's what shipped this month. Read more
